Getting ready!
The scientific team boarded the Pourquoi Pas? in Pointe-à-Pitre on Friday July 8th. The four containers including the radio-isotope container arrived the day before and were already on the ship ready for two days of mobilization.
Saturday morning: once the equipment was unloaded from the containers sent from Brest, installation of the laboratories (chemistry, biology, geology, ...) could begin. All the devices and equipment are now set up on the lab benches and everything is securely attached and ready for the trip.
Monday: overflow tests were carried out for the manned submersible Nautile and the autonomous robot Ulyx. The aim was to test the launching and recovery of the two vehicles by the Nautile and Ulyx teams as well as the deck team, before the first dives. This was also an opportunity for the Nautile and Ulyx to take a swim before the cruise actually begins!
