Dredge of the thousand and one rocks

Today, we conducted two CTD operations and one dredge to recover  a remarkable amount and variety of rocks: basalts and gabbros that constitute the ocean crust and serpentinites, rocks resulting from the interaction between seawater and peridotite (rock that constitutes the upper mantle).

Some of the blocks contain aragonite in the form of small crystals or geodes.
