After a day's journey, the scientific crew safely arrived in Mindelo (Cape Verde) on Monday evening. The research vessel Pourquoi Pas?, held-up in Dakar, only arrived in Mindelo on Thursday morning at 9 am.

Everybody was busy on the aft deck to get ready to leave. Once loaded on-board, four containers are emptied and the equipment dispatched in the appropriate lab (chemistry, biology, rock lab...). During the transit which started Friday evening at 6 pm, the scientists set up their sample analysis tools in the labs and prepare the sampling instruments.
